Network Marketing Sucess – Training-1
Here are the minutes of our last training dated 19th June 2011
Key Points that we covered were:
Your Why:
Why are we doing something over and above our usual work. We get involved in a home based business hoping that a little part time effort will pay off with extra weekly income and in time this could lead to some serious residual cash flow for future needs.
But its not that easy as in the initial days, weeks or even for the first year or even the first 2 to 4 years we may see little or no income and that could be discouraging if we do not have a dream and a vision on which our business is based upon.
For what we lack in financial capital investment we need to replace that with time investment. Most often just putting in time is not enough as we need to invest in ourselves first to overcome mental obstacles.
We need to look within us to see how important it is for us to sacrifice our time and some energy to invest in our financial future. We need to constantly remind ourselves why we are doing what we are doing.
Most often a home based business involves people and when we invite people to join us we need to be aware of some crucial factors.
Some of the questions we must ask ourselves are:
- Am I willing to pour myself into others
- Am I committed to equipping the team
- Am I effective in the areas I need to equipped
- Have I developed a potential list of potential leaders.
Do these potential leaders passed the test:
- Is the person compatible with the team and my leadership
- Does the person show potential for growth
- Am I seeing the person for obvious reasons or because I don’t see any glaring weakness
- Does the new person has abilities and skills to compliment the team
Now some thing about equipping…
Those closest to you will determine your level of success. If your dreams are great, you achieve them only with a team. So look for great people to mentor and partner with. Your growth depends on them.
What is he Difference between “Interest” and “Commitment”!
There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something you do it only when it is convenient. When you are committed you do it with no excuses. No matter what!
Remember that success does not come immediately but rather in small steps. Learn to eat the Elephant one mouthful at a time.
A note in developing yourself
There is no substitute for personal growth. If you are not receiving and growing , you will never be able to give to the people you nurture and develop.
Don’t focus on your fears you will not grow.
Henry Ford once said… “One of the greatest discoveries man makes, one of his greatest surprises, is to find that he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.”
Goals & Goal setting:
Shad Helmster once said that life starts with Goals.
Its the goal that shapes the plan, The plan that sets the action, the action that achieves the results and the results that bring the success.
But its also brings Failures. You must learn to handle failure or else you will be doomed. Failure is part of the whole process of trying to succeed in anything more so in business.
Kyle Rote Jnr once said …”There is no doubt in my mind that there are many ways to be a winner, but there is only one way to be a loser and that is to fail and not look beyond failure”.
People complain and say if only they were this or they were that they would be successful. So what really makes people big achievers. Is it:
- Family background
- Wealth
- Opportunity
- High Morals
- Absence of hardships
Well! It’s non of these but on how the respond to failure.
What is Failure?
Failure is not avoidable, you have to learn the lessons, these are not mistakes but lessons learnt. If you don’t learn the easy lessons then they just get harder and the pain is worse. You will know that you have learn’t when you notice that your actions have changed.
Here are key points to know about Failure:
- Failure is not an event: If you get an F in class, it means you have not failed but rather neglected the process leading to the presentation. Failure is not some place you will arrive and neither is success. It’s how you deal with life along the way. It only stops when you die.
- Failure as an Objective: Failure to get your company bonus is not failure. Rather you just forgot to do the necessary steps to get there. Successful people are not deterred by failures, problems or mistakes. They know that 3 steps forward and two steps backwards is still equal to one step forward.
- Failure is not the Enemy: It doesn’t matter how much milk you spill as long as you don’t lose your cow. In other words it means mistakes are not irreversible. The problem is when you only see spilled milk and not the big picture.
- Failure is not a stigma: It is not a permanent maker but a step to success.
- Failure is not final: We get paid to produce results. We don’t get paid to be right.
Key points to remember when talking to people!
When you are building your organization you need to know what type of people you want to attract to you and the team. Here are some key points on what to look for in People:
We need to do big things to attract big people, If we do little things we will attract small people. And small people cause us to work harder and cause a lot of trouble to the team.
Always learn to prospect up than go for people who are in your comfort zone.
Have you heard of the “Law of Diminishing Expertise”?
Its means don’t sponsor people who are less than you with abilities. Become a good evaluator of people and you will become a success and a leader of people.
If each of us sponsored people who were less than us we would become an organization of dwarfs.
A team member must do more than what he can possibly do to achieve what he wants to achieve. He must set the example and create the atmosphere for success.
We should know that winners are made not found. Lets find someone who has little skills and abilities and lets coach them to their full potential. When you find this person ask yourself can you afford to train this new person, is he coachable.
Lets be leaders who lead and not followers. Followers are plenty.
Points on Finding Leaders:
We need to shift a lot of people to find a few leaders. Its like shifting a lot of dirt to find a few ounces of Gold. But we don’t go looking for dirt but rather for the Gold all the Time. It’s the same with leaders, talk to many people to find a few good ones to coach to be your team leaders.
When you are looking for people look who is aggressive and committed in their work.
Don’t try mentoring someone who cant be coached, its a waste of time.
Here are Qualities to look for in a leader:
- Character: This person can break or make a team so be careful who you introduce into the team. They can destroy the team. Look to see if they have honesty, integrity, self discipline, teach-ability, conscientiousness and strong work ethic. Now look for these warning signs in people who may be trouble ….. The person does not take responsibility of his mistakes and actions, unfulfilled promises and actions to meet deadlines.
- Influence: If you sponsor someone who has power he can influence others as they know that he is going somewhere and they will follow him no matter what. Make sure he has influence over the right type of people you want in your team.
- Positive Attitude: Find a person who has an attitude of no-limit. Great quality to have in your potential leader. A “No_limit” person will always approach life from a positive perspective and will not let people’s limitations around him affect him. They are able to go to places that others don’t or cant.
- Learn to analyze people fast or else you will waste a lot of time in building your home based business. I will talk about “The Wanna Bees” who are “Never Bees”, “Could Bees”, “Should Bees” and “Must Bees” in a future post.
Now a little on Accountability: Titles are worth little, same with positions. If you stand on your position, you will have no influence beyond your position. Remember that what size bottle the milk is pour into the cream always rises to the top. Learn to pick the cream of your followers to nurture into leaders. It may take a bit longer but once their people are trained you will fly on the success highway.
How to go about Team Building
The last subject we covered during our training session was on Team Building.
We must develop an identity so people can attach themselves to and be proud to be part of this group. It’s called belonging and most people will do more for the family than for themselves.
As a group we can go anywhere we want. So we need to create the right atmosphere for growth so people who join us will feel they can grow to their full potential.
We will provide the right support and team work to help these new individuals to grow. We will find the right specifics for each one in the team so they grow to their fullest.
Our Vision as a Team: Our Vision for the team is one of friendliness, support, direction and purpose. Our team Vision is to provide the training and support and the empowerment powers for individuals to come into the team and grow into self supporting leaders in 12 months.
Remember that success comes at a price, we need to pay now and play later instead of play now and pay later.
There is no ideal time for us to start so lets start now and create a climate of change for those who are going to follow us soon.

The “Why” and “How” on how to build a home based business
May 3, 2011 by admin
Today I am going to share with you some concepts that will help you in your home based business.
Here is an interesting way to explain how people look at money.
For example wealthy people, income is what is left over from their investments less tidings to God. This would be what they would con sir as expenses. Anything they spend on themselves they would classify as an expense. Simply because it does not generate income.
Now income earners look at money in a totally different light. For this major group of people money saved is basically income less expenses.
How to build a solid home base business.
In the business of network marketing, a good business should start with a sound inventory. For example a restaurant in it’s conception would have what would go into it. These would include tables, chairs, stoves, crockery and cutlery, signage, menus, etc.
Similarly in a network marketing business we should look at two separate aspects of the business, the WHY and the HOW!
We will talk about these two important aspects in a short while in another post but for now I want to emphasis the importance of Prospecting. Here a novice business owner must start off by getting their inventory done. It’s called a prospect list.
A good prospect list will have at least 100 names to start off with. From this list we will narrow down our numbers by categorizing the people and selling the ones who have the following: money, skills, belong to networks, may have a belief in the product line you are marketing, are entrepreneurs, etc.
Now to touch on the subject of why and how! Being successful in any business one must have a strong why. The “why” you are doing this business must be strong t the point it hurts. In other words if the fruits of the business is never accomplished you will regret it as long as you live.
The “why” will be based on dreams you have for your life, family and your career. These dreams must be fueled by a vision of you achieving these dreams. The vision must be precise, sharp and clear and have a time frame fixed to it. You just don’t want to be dreaming forever.
Once you have this dream harnessed to a vision you need a vehicle to take you to where you want to go. This vehicle we will call it your business, your home based business. The business you accept must be solid and profitable. We will go into that in a later article here.
Let’s talk about the “how” a bit here now. Under this section we can discuss the skill sets you need to become a success in multilevel marketing.
Do you know that success lies in only 20% skills sets. The balance 80% is what we discussed earlier on in your why. As long as you are open minded, eager to learn, are a good reader, and will attend all trainings and seminars, you can be moulded into a good business person by a seasoned mentor.

How To Earn Extra In MLM In Philippines

How the bonuses reflect your growth in your mlm company.
Recently I was amazed when a member of mine started to get frequent cheques here in the Philippines. Initially Jackie got income sparingly in the first 6 weeks and then 12 weeks into the business she started to see the cheques come in fortnightly and in the last 2 weeks it becoming a weekly thing.
Most interestingly is that Jackie has created 100% Matching Bonus in her team with her direct referrals. Now Jackie will enjoy the benefits of the Matching Bonus program. To read about this go here….
What is amazing is that, putting in some part time effort and helping team members to duplicate within a fixed achievable time frame when they first joined, Jackie has been able to double her income in weeks.
So now she is enjoying a good bonus in Philippines. If her bonus starts to go up each week, rest assured she will see her weekly commissions go up too.
This is an indicator that when one sees people taking advantage in the bonus program, business growth takes place, which in turn shows product movement and great sales resulting in greater commission.
