Why fears can stop you from achieving success in your home based business- A short story

I agree with what Brian Tracy wrote:

no one is born with fears. Fears can therefore be unlearned by practicing self discipline repeatedly with regard to fear until it goes away.

The most common fears that we experience, which often sabotage all hope for success, are the fears of failure, poverty, and loss of money. These fears cause people to avoid risk of any kind and to reject opportunity when it is presented to them. They are so afraid of failure that they are almost paralyzed when it comes to taking any chances at all.

Its interesting to read Brian Tracy’s post this morning about fears. It made me remember what happened last weekend and here is the story about fears we carry within us that could potentially prevent us from benefiting from great business opportunities around us.

I was attending a family reunion last weekend in Canberra and our nephew who is 22 years old, graduating from college, was asking for advice about investments and how to create wealth from his peers.

We all tossed ideas on various topics such as real estate and shares in blue chip companies. After much debate his loving mother said to him be careful what you do as you could loose all your money. She is a very loving and caring hard working lady and I respect her deeply.

Yet she carries a fear of venturing out and looking at new opportunties.

Interestingly his parents have sunk over half a million Australian Dollars in rural property to start a hobby farm . They are not farmers, no experience in growing carrots or tomatoes and are in their mid fifties.

They have gone about this whole affair of the “farm idea” on purely a feeling of what they had as children growing up on their parents farm.

Interestingly They want their hobby farm to give them profits in 10 years by the age of 65 and be able to get out of farming by the age of 70 years. When we ask them have they started to work the land, the reply was we are busy and will try fitting it in.

Now if we were to look at farming, we will need to prepare the soil for the crops, especially if its to be an organic farm. Organic farms need 10 years of no artificial fertilizers to be certified organic.

If they were to plant fruit trees it would take atleast 5 to 10 years for those trees to be mature enough to give fruit.

I am not sure about you but I rather place my 500,000 dollars in real estate or shares than a hobby farm. In my fifties I am not as able bodied as a young man farming the land. Its hard work and the long hours would kill me. I rather do more pleasant things right now.

Now remember I spoke about the mother who was protective. This same sweet lady did do network marketing 10 years ago incidently. She went about it in an aggressive and passionate way but failed in her first attempt and quit. Just like Brian said in his post, our fears very often prevent us reaping the real fruits of our efforts. If this woman had learnt from her mistakes and failed forward she most probably would not have to sink $500,000 into a farm that has not yielded anything in the last 2 years and probably not do so in the future.

So this brings me to why I choose network marketing as my financial instrument today.

Network marketing is a great investment that would not need such a big capital investment is getting started in a home based business. Just like fruit trees maturing, you could very easily build a huge network marketing business in 5 to 10 years which will give you residual incomes for the rest of your life.

The fact is you don’t need huge investments, alot of time and don’t have to be young or old. Anyone can do this and its doable.

How To Get Started In A Network Marketing Company In The Philippines?

I agree with Antone Roundy wrote:

A beginner starting out should concentrate on one core market and apply their full attention to growing an income there first.

Here are my comments…

As a beginner in network marketing ro for that matter even internet marketing concentrate on one core area of strength first. Don’t try to master every thing all at once.

When you start out in your home based business opportunity in the Philippines I would suggest you separate your activities into two groups.

1. What needs to be done first. Learn the systems!

2. What must be done every day from wekk two onwards. Sharpen the axe!

When you first start you must follow your sponsor as he will teach you to be successful in your network marketing company.

There are four things you need to do immediately

a. Learn your starter kit or business development system thoroughly as if you have an exam the next day. Make a time for your sponsor to quiz you about various aspects of the business system to test your knowledge. Make sure this is all done and completed by Day 2 of you signing up for your business opportunity.

b. The next thing is to learn all about your company, its products, its science and the marketing plan. This can be learnt from the company magazine, flip chart, power point presentation or newspaper. Again learn this thoroughly and then sit for an exam as I call it with your sponsor and role model with you as the presentor and the sponsor as the guest. You may not pass the first time round but thats ok. In 3 goes you will be great and will be confident.

c. Build your names list. Write down 200 names initial and dont take any short cuts about this. I want you to then catgorize these names into grades if they are hot prospects or luke warm . This will make your in the field work much easier n a few days time. I will write a list of what you need to filter your prospects with below the next point.

d. Lastly I would then recommend that you sit and learn at every meeting, training and presentation you can attend in the next 8 weeks. From then on you will always attend meetings and trainings weekly and never take an attitude of I know it all. Once you develop the wrong attitude of “I know all that” you will stop learning and will never earn more than your present rate of commission.. An attitude of learning will give you an ability to earn more.

You must complete all the above if you want to Play at a Level 10 performance player.

Here is the filter I spoke about. Pass each of your prospect through this filter before you call them.

1. Do they have a job?
2. Do they live in teh same city as you?
3. Do they have a credit card?
4. Do they take a positive attitude towards health & wellness/
5. Are they open minded to business opportunities?
6. Are they open minded to network marketing?
7. Are they coachable?
8. Are they a Team Player?
9. Do They have an attitude of “I know all that”?
10. Can You kidnap them to a presentation?
11. Do they have integrity?

How To Build Network Marketing Business On the Web Today

I want to add my thoughts to what Stone wrote:

you must have a good domain name and web hosting program that will draw traffic to your site

For any business today we need to have a very good presence on the net. What I mean by this is we first of all have to have a site that is appealing to visitors. Then we need to optimize this site with the right words and phrases called keywords. Keywords are special words people use to gather information from Google.

Now get a domain name with a good keyword that people use. You can use a paid tool called market samurai for this purpose. I have been using this for years and my sites rank high in the organic searches in Google due to MarketSamurai.

In addition you need to capture visitors to your sites and be able to send them information on a regular basis and an auto responder service is good for that. I use Aweber.com for this purpose.

What I have found is by using a fancy Popup on my sites I am able to get a minimum of 3 to 4 people a day to subscribe to my email list now with ease. Premium List Magnet is what I use and its used with my auto responder service. Its easy to use and does not require any fancy SEO knowledge.

lastly to put all this together I feel you need a website that is optimized for the search engines and www.StudioPress.com is the right choice for that.

I have hyper-linked all the sites so you can do your own research with ease.

Network Marketing Success Is Not By Accident- Change Your Mind Set

November 29, 2011 by

I found Terry Dean right in what he has to share and below are my thoughts as well:

I have to laugh when experts say make a 10 year business plan.  Your online business will look radically different  in 3 years than what you could ever expect.  If it’s not changing and growing, it’s dying somewhere along the way.

Get yourself in the right place and the right attitude for these kinds of accidents to happen.

Learn.  Grow.  Multiply.

I have been attending training here in Makati, Philipines. The common thread is that what goes in should come out.

So if you are seeing results that you don’t want to see do you know what you need to do? It’s simply that you need to change the process.

I would recommend that you start with the thought process that is causing you to get the results you don’t want to see. Start reading books that can contribute to your mind to expand and grow with positive thoughts which will make you do position actions in the direction of your goals, which in turn will yield positive results.

let me narrate an incident lately when a team member of mine complained bitterly that he was not seeing results that he was expecting. In-spite of hitting the first goal in the starting up process he was disappointed. he complained that his income checks were few and not frequent enough.

This is someone who is rarely seen at training. Does not read books and rarely stays awake at meeting if he does attend.

Can you see the issue here. Instead of fertilizing his mind to grow good crops of success he was actually poisoning his mind with thoughts of mediocrity and failure.

When I dis not see his point of view he just stop communicating with me.

It’s sad when people react this way. Because they will soon quit the business of network marketing.

You should adapt to change and learn so that you can embrace change and grow in your own home based businesses.

Don’t be like that down-line of mine who complained about people, and why everything seemed not right.
