Brisbane Floods spared no one, Having a back up plan help? Who Know- Read more…
On sat the 15th of Jan just 2 days after the huge floods hit Brisbane, Vicki and I headed of to Chelmer whch is on the southside of the river to help a Usana friend who had lost her home and everything to the floods.
A trip from Stafford Heights via Mogill Rd to Indooroopilly in the Inner Western suburbs would normally take around 20 to 25 minutes from our home. That day it took us nearly 3 hours, crawling along amoung thousands of volenteers who with brooms, shovels and buckets in their gum boots headed to hand over their time to the stricken home owners and businesses worst hit in Brisbane. people came from as far away as the Gold Coast to teh south.
As we approached the battle grounds we saw homes and businesses swamped in water or mud and water. People were in the front yards or what was left of them washing mud off precious items with hoses and buckets.
Back yards were could with thick mud, swimming pools were brown with clay color mud and plants 4 metres tall had mud all over them. I saw suitcases which were thrown on roof tops that probably floated away in the flood and found their way in tehir new homes.
One lady told me to throw away her bed head as the mattressand the other part of the bed had floadted away the day before. Most families were either struck directly with the River over flowing or from water coming up through teh huge storm water drains in their back yards.
It was desvasting to see family after family stricken, no one was spared.
Our hearts went out to these people. We had just come from the northside of the city, far from the flood plains of Brisbane River and life was as normal as ever. People were shopping at the gardening stores, buying groceries or were busy mowing their lawns. Yet on the other side of the city just 3 KM south there was havoc.
Why! We will never know why some of us get spared and others don’t. Many of these people will rise up and grow strong from this big set back and will do great things in business or to their future new homes they will build soon.
But there will also be the sad few who will feel lost, sad and miserable and be victims of this great flood for their entire lives.
Do we want to be victims? No, so lets us use our human courage and strength and mind power to rise above this and do better.
I went pass my old businesses both in Westend and in Rosalie. I saw them both under 4 metres of water, totally lost and destroyed and was relieved that I in 2003, selected a way out of the rat race and joined an MLM health company called Usana Health Sciences.
I wanted a way out back then from the hard work- working for staff, landlord and the bank. I chose network marketing due to the many benefits the business model of Multilevel marketing had going for it.
But today the most important of the benfits is the relief that if anything should happen to my home or me, my family will have the residual income Usana home based business has given us today.
Just recently in 2009 in the Philippines the country was struck with a huge typhoon which devastated the city and people died, home destroyed and livehoods taken away.
I love sharing what I have today as it helps people to have a backup income stream that could prove to be a great cash flow system in times of strife. If you are living to be open minded looking for some extra income which can be attained by some part time effort, why not look at a MLM home based business.
